“Embedded” probe
Projet
Use of an embedded probe makes it possible to determine changes in the temperature of a product in the furnace in terms of time and/or space. To facilitate the handling of thermocouples and guarantee accurate measurements, the electronic instrument used to take the measurements is embedded in the furnace, where it is protected from high temperatures (up to 1300°C) by an appropriate heat shield.
Industry
Steel (NLMK Clabecq, NLMK La Louvière, Industeel Belgium, Industeel Creusot, Ascometal)
Gains
Measurement of lower and upper heat flows allows correction of any lack of uniformity of heating and adaptation of temperature set points for products, to improve quality. Measurement of temperature changes in the thickness of products also permits validation of the furnace management thermal model in different temperature and product geometry configurations.
